Menu names for the same thing: a club or activity centre is an organisation. Sport language (awards, Skills Cards) lives in Paddlesport terms & glossary.
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Organisation | A club or activity centre on this PaddleSafe site. |
| Club / activity centre | The everyday names for an organisation. “Club” still appears in older labels (Club profile, host club). |
| Your organisations | Signed-in list under You — places you have joined or asked to join, plus the rest of this site. |
| Clubs | Guest menu name for that same public directory. |
| Club profile | Contact, logo, public page address, and home-water map for one organisation (Organisation menu). |
| Site → Organisations | Site administrator list of every organisation on this host. |
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Hat / Role | The switcher (Paddler, Leader, Org, Emergency, Site) when your account has more than one job. Help lists change with the hat. |
| You | Account menu: personal details, Your organisations, log, practice points. Not the Org workspace. |
| Org | Short hat name for organisation duty and organisation admin: members, live map, club profile. |
| Organisation (menu) | The Org-hat group: Overview, Club profile, Members, operating areas, Coaching notes, Pending skills. |
| Coaching notes | Teaching library for an organisation (Coverage, Shared, Propose, Pending, Programmes). Organisation menu, and the Leader hat when you coach or can edit skills. |
| Practice points | The same cards as a self-learning aid. Paddler → You. |
| Org switcher | Header control to pick one organisation or All organisations. Only when you hold duty or admin at two or more clubs. Membership is not duty. |
| Site | Site administrator hat: organisations and leaders for the whole host. |
| Emergency | Emergency services hat: Emergency Dashboard only — not Organisation unless those roles are also granted. |
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Leader page | The leader’s private session control page (secret link — do not share). |
| Enrolled | On the leader page before Start: who has a place, including Accept / Decline and a Present / Not present register, plus Remove. The count is paddling places, not everyone on the list. |
| Paddling places | How many paddler slots are filled versus the session maximum. Back-up leaders (and shore/drop-off guardians) are not in this number. |
| Register | One-tap Present / Not present on the leader page and roster. Not present means they are not on the water and do not block Complete. Remove takes the place away (wrong ability or conditions for today) — confirm, optional reason, optional notify by SMS or WhatsApp. After Start, tap Present to put a booked late arrival back on the water, or Remove if they never launched. |
| Roster | Who is signed in (before Start) or on the water, and their safe-return status (after Start). |
| Safe return | Each person confirms they are off the water. Nothing counts as safe until someone acts. |
| Join link / QR | How paddlers find the session without a host-wide diary. Guests use this; signed-in people can also browse Sessions. |
| Back-up leader | A verified leader joining someone else’s trip to help run it. They are on the water, do not use a paddling place, and still mark safe. They do not get the leader page — Hand over is what changes who leads. The trail shows them as back-up next to paddling places. |
Roles and who can grant them: Account roles. How a trip runs: How PaddleSafe works (by role).
